How the job runs

  1. Step 1 of 4

    Free assessment

Send a recent power bill, or 12 months of half-hourly data if you have it. We review your usage, your roof or land and the network connection.

  2. Step 2 of 4

    Design and simulation

We model system options, expected bill savings and payback, then send a proposal with hybrid, battery-ready and expandable choices.

  3. Step 3 of 4

    Approvals

We handle the network connection application and any consent exemption, with a structural review where one is needed.

  4. Step 4 of 4

    Install and handover

SEANZ-authorised, EWRB-registered installers fit and commission the system. We train you on the monitoring and stay on for after-sales support.

What we do

Every job below gets its own page with what is included, how it runs and photos of work like yours.

Commercial solar

Offices, warehouses, schools, retirement villages and golf clubs run their biggest loads in daylight, which is when solar produces. We model your interval data, size the system to the building and manage the project through to commissioning.

  • Free site assessment and a savings and payback report from your interval data
  • System engineering and detailed design by our electrical engineers
  • Network connection application and consent exemption assistance
  • Installation, testing, commissioning and handover by SEANZ-authorised installers

School solar

A school draws most of its power in class hours, which is exactly when solar produces. We size the system to your term-time daytime load, model the savings from your own consumption data, and give the board the numbers before anything is ordered.

  • Free site assessment and a savings and payback report from your school's own usage data
  • System design and engineering by our electrical engineers
  • Structural assessment by a CPEng-qualified engineer where the roof needs it
  • Network connection application and consent exemption assistance

Rural and farm solar

Milking sheds, poultry sheds, coolstores, greenhouses and irrigation pumps are heavy daytime users on big roofs and open land. We design farm systems around your load profile, from a solar pump to a shed roof array with battery.

  • Free farm assessment from your power bills or half-hourly data
  • Shed roof, ground-mount or solar pump systems sized to the operation
  • Battery options for milking and irrigation loads outside daylight
  • Network connection application and consent exemption handled for you

Residential solar

A home system designed around your power bill, your EV plans and the battery you may add later. Premium panels, hybrid inverters and a 10-year workmanship warranty, with the savings modelled before you sign anything.

  • Free assessment and a savings estimate from your power bill
  • Hybrid inverter so a battery can be added any time
  • EV-ready wiring and charger options
  • Network connection application lodged for you

Battery storage

A battery moves your solar from the middle of the day to the evening, and keeps the lights on when the grid drops. We model whether one pays for you, then design it with Sigenergy, BYD, Sungrow or Tesla storage.

  • Battery sizing modelled from your half-hourly usage
  • Add to an existing system or design in from the start
  • Backup power for outages where the battery and inverter support it
  • Sigenergy, BYD, Sungrow and Tesla options, selected per project

EV charging

A home wall charger, a row of workplace chargers or a golf club cart-charging bay, wired to run on your own solar where it can. We size the supply, the charger and the solar together so the car charges on sunshine.

  • Home wall chargers sized to your supply and solar
  • Workplace, fleet and depot charging with load management
  • DC fast chargers for businesses, fleets and charging sites
  • Vehicle-to-home charging where the vehicle and equipment are compatible

Before you book

Is the site assessment really free?

Yes. The initial consultation, the site assessment and the quotation are free and carry no obligation.

What do you need from me to start?

A recent power bill is enough for a first estimate. Twelve months of half-hourly data from your retailer gives a tighter number, and we help you request it.

Do you install the systems yourselves?

Solar Scope designs, procures and manages the project. Installation and commissioning are by registered, SEANZ-authorised electrical contractors we work with on every job.

Where do you work?

We are based in Hamilton and cover the Waikato, Taranaki and the Manawatū first, with commercial, rural and residential work across the North Island.

Do you publish prices?

No. Every system is sized to the property, so we quote after the assessment and show the modelled savings alongside the price.

Is there a minimum system size?

In the Waikato, no. Outside the Waikato we take on residential systems from 8 to 10 kW, and commercial, rural and consultancy work of any size.
